Configurations Overview

Fine-tune the intelligence models that power Carbonleap’s predictions, alerts, and field insights

Each farm in Carbonleap includes a dedicated Configurations section that allows you to customize the core agronomic, operational, and environmental models used across the platform. These configuration tools ensure that Carbonleap reflects the true characteristics of your crop, field, and management practices — making predictions more accurate and alerts more relevant.

Configurations are organized into four modules, each addressing a different layer of field intelligence:

  1. Alert Tuner

  2. Crop Calendar (Phenological Calendar)

  3. Crop & Field Details

  4. Season Field Plan

These modules work together to create a complete, field-specific intelligence model.

Why Configurations Matter

Carbonleap’s analytics engine relies on four major data pillars:

  • Crop development timing

  • Field structure and crop attributes

  • Operational plans and expected activities

  • Alert sensitivity and logic thresholds

The Configurations section lets you adjust and refine each pillar, ensuring that the insights you see in Monitor Farm, Alerts, and Field Highlights match the real behavior of your crop and your operational practices.

Updating configurations affects:

  • Growth stage prediction

  • Alert generation and frequency

  • Field summaries

  • Satellite metric interpretation

  • Weather-based recommendations

  • Water deficit evaluation

  • Scouting intelligence (future)

  • Task automation (future)

The more accurate your configurations, the more precise your insights.

Configuration Modules

1. Alert Tuner

Customize how alerts behave for this field.

You can:

  • Enable or disable specific alerts

  • Adjust thresholds (e.g., NDMI, wind speed, ET₀, temperature)

  • Change reissue delays

  • Add custom messages

  • Set notification methods

This module ensures alerts match your crop sensitivity, risk tolerance, and operational workflow.

2. Crop Calendar (Phenological Calendar)

Manage the crop’s growth stages across the season.

You can update:

  • GDD thresholds per stage

  • Season start and end dates

  • Base and saturation temperatures

  • Actual observed dates

  • Transition windows

This calendar influences:

  • Current Stage

  • Upcoming Stage

  • Weather-driven recommendations

  • Alert sensitivity and timing

  • Growth rate analysis

It is a core model used across Carbonleap.

3. Crop & Field Details

Provide agronomic and structural details about the field.

You can enter:

  • Variety, clone, rootstock

  • Planting year

  • Row spacing, plant spacing

  • Irrigation type

  • Trellis type

  • Soil descriptors

  • Certifications

  • Cover crop

  • Notes

These details refine:

  • Vegetation index interpretation

  • Water deficit modeling

  • Canopy density expectations

  • Stress scoring

  • Historical comparisons

This module adds biological and physical context to your field.

4. Season Field Plan

Define planned seasonal activities for the field.

You can schedule:

  • Irrigation events

  • Nutrient programs

  • Sprays

  • Canopy management

  • Pre-/post-harvest tasks

  • Any custom field activity

The Season Field Plan provides operational context for:

  • Alerts

  • Recommendations

  • Field Highlights

  • Future task automation

  • Weather-based advisories

This is your roadmap for what should happen and when.

How the Configuration Modules Work Together

Crop Calendar

Defines when biological events should occur.

Crop & Field Details

Define what the field physically is and how the crop behaves.

Season Field Plan

Defines what you plan to do operationally.

Alert Tuner

Defines how the system should notify you based on changing conditions.

Together they create a complete intelligence framework used across Carbonleap.

Accessing Configurations

You can access these modules by:

  • Navigating to Profile Settings → Manage Farms

  • Selecting a specific farm

  • Opening the Configurations panel linked to a field

Updates made here immediately influence models and insights.

Summary

The Configurations section is the foundation of Carbonleap’s intelligence platform. By setting up alert preferences, crop phenology, field attributes, and seasonal plans, you ensure that Carbonleap:

  • Predicts accurately

  • Alerts appropriately

  • Interprets satellite data correctly

  • Provides actionable and meaningful recommendations

  • Learns the unique characteristics of your operation

Configuration is where you tell Carbonleap how your farm works — so that everywhere else in the platform, Carbonleap can help you farm smarter.
