7-Day Weather Forecast & Field Highlights
Hyperlocal weather intelligence and AI-generated field summaries to guide your daily decisions
The Weather & Highlights panel on the Monitor Farm page provides an at-a-glance understanding of what is happening in your field today — and what you should prepare for next. The panel now includes a toggle that lets you switch between:
Forecast — a 7-day hyperlocal weather outlook
Highlights — an AI-generated daily field summary based on the latest satellite, weather, and crop data
Forecast View
Hyperlocal weather sourced from the most accurate nearby station
Carbonleap aggregates weather data from multiple stations near your farm and automatically selects the one with the highest historical accuracy.
The Forecast panel displays:
Daily weather conditions (sun, cloud cover, precipitation)
High/low temperatures
Wind speed
Humidity
Rainfall probability
Weather data plays a key role in:
Phenological stage prediction
Managing water stress
Spray window alerts
Disease pressure estimation (future alerts)
Field operations planning
This data updates automatically throughout the day.
Highlights View
Your daily AI field summary, personalized for each block
The Highlights tab provides a natural-language, grower-friendly explanation of what is happening in the field. This analysis is generated using:
Latest vegetation metrics (NDVI, NDRE, MSAVI, NDMI)
Soil and canopy moisture indicators
7-day weather forecast
Growth stage (from the Phenological Calendar)
Recent changes in field conditions
Multi-season historical data
What the Field Summary Includes
1. Overall Field Health A clear description of crop vigor, canopy development, and any significant changes since the last satellite image.
2. Moisture & Stress Signals Carbonleap identifies areas that may be showing early signs of water deficit, heat stress, or slowed canopy growth.
3. Canopy Development Insights Highlights whether canopy growth is on track for the current phenological stage — e.g., approaching ideal LAI during shoot growth or veraison.
4. Weather Impact Assessment AI explains what upcoming weather means for your field, including:
Irrigation timing
Heat-related stress
Rainfall opportunities
Cold-risk considerations
5. Simple, actionable “Health Checks” A bullet-point summary helps growers understand issues at a glance. Examples:
Moisture stress in sectors 3–4 (68% capacity, trending downward)
Canopy development: excellent growth rate
Rain expected in 2 days may eliminate need for irrigation
This transforms raw data into practical recommendations without requiring technical expertise.
How Highlights Are Generated
The Field Summary updates whenever new data becomes available, such as:
A new satellite scan of the field
Updated 7-day weather forecast
A shift in growth stage
A newly detected stress signal
Recent rapid changes in any vegetation metric
The system analyzes all inputs together rather than viewing them in isolation, resulting in a holistic field-level narrative.
When to Use Each View
Use Forecast when you need to:
Plan irrigation
Decide spray timing
Prepare for stress events (heat, cold, wind)
Understand weather-driven risks
Use Highlights when you want:
A simple interpretation of field conditions
Insight without analyzing raw metrics
Early warnings based on multiple layers of data
AI-supported decision guidance
Daily summaries you can share with staff
Summary
The Forecast & Highlights panel elevates the Monitor Farm experience by combining hyperlocal weather intelligence with clear, AI-generated summaries. Whether you're planning operations or checking overall field health, this tool gives you fast, actionable insights — without requiring technical analysis.
