Activation Process

What Happens After You Submit Your Farm Configuration

After completing the three-step onboarding wizard—Farm Details, Add Fields, and Select Subscription—Carbonleap begins preparing your digital farm in the background. This activation process sets up the data, models, and analytics required for your fields.

You can continue navigating the platform while activation runs.

What Activation Includes

When activation begins, Carbonleap automatically performs several tasks:

Field Geometry Validation

The system confirms that each field boundary is valid, closed, and ready for satellite clipping and acreage calculation.

Acreage Finalization

Total farm acreage is finalized and rounded to the nearest whole acre. This acreage is tied to your subscription tier.

Weather Source Selection

Carbonleap identifies and assigns the most accurate hyperlocal weather source for your farm’s location.

Satellite Data Initialization

The system prepares your farm to receive:

  • NDVI

  • NDRE

  • NDMI

  • MSAVI and other satellite-derived metrics as new imagery becomes available.

Phenological Calendar Preparation

The platform loads ten years of historical weather data and begins computing:

  • GDD thresholds

  • Estimated growth stages

  • Daily GDD accumulation

  • Forecasted 7-day GDD

Alert Engine Setup

All existing alert types are initialized for each field so they can begin evaluating conditions as data arrives.

Activation Status View

During activation, you may see a status screen showing:

  • Percentage progress

  • Which stage of activation is currently running

  • A description of what the system is preparing

  • Links to download the mobile app

  • Options to navigate to another farm (if one exists)

This screen updates automatically until the farm reaches active status.

When Activation Is Complete

Once all processes finish:

  • Your farm becomes fully active

  • All fields unlock

  • The Monitor Farm dashboard becomes available

  • Satellite metrics and weather forecasts begin displaying
