Tasks (Coming Soon)

A unified workspace to plan, assign, and track farm activities

The Tasks feature will provide a centralized way to organize all field work—helping growers, managers, and teams stay aligned throughout the season. While this feature is under development, this page outlines what you can expect when it becomes available.


What Tasks Will Enable

1. Create and assign tasks across your farm

You will be able to create tasks for:

  • Irrigation

  • Fertigation

  • Spraying

  • Pruning

  • Harvest preparation

  • Scouting

  • Equipment use

  • Custom workflows specific to your farm

Each task will support:

  • A title

  • Description

  • Assigned team members

  • Due date

  • Priority level

  • Optional attachments (photos, notes, documents)


Tasks can be:

  • Field-specific

  • Farm-wide

  • Assigned to a zone or block

  • Independent operational tasks (e.g., equipment maintenance)

This allows you to track work exactly where it happens.


3. Integration with Alerts

Tasks will integrate with the Alerts system to help growers take timely action.

Examples:

  • A Water Deficit Alert may suggest adding an irrigation task.

  • A Spray Window Alert may create an opportunity task for application timing.

  • A Scouting Note Alert may prompt a targeted field inspection.

You will be able to convert alerts into tasks with one click.


4. Integration with Farm Service Plans (FSP)

Your Farm Service Plan defines seasonal expectations and recommended workflows.

Tasks will automatically populate from:

  • Pre-season plans

  • Milestones

  • Crop-specific recommendations

  • Management schedules

When actual conditions deviate from the plan, Carbonleap will suggest modified or additional tasks.


5. Track task status and progress

Tasks will include the following statuses:

  • Not Started

  • In Progress

  • Completed

  • Deferred

  • Cancelled

You will be able to filter tasks by:

  • Field

  • Farm

  • Date

  • Team member

  • Priority

  • Status


6. View tasks in multiple formats

Carbonleap will support:

  • List View – See tasks across all farms

  • Field View – Tasks grouped under each field

  • Calendar View – Manage seasonal workflows visually

  • Timeline View (planned) – Understand workload distribution over time


7. Mobile App Integration

The Carbonleap mobile app will allow you to:

  • View assigned tasks in real-time

  • Record completion with notes, photos, and voice inputs

  • Sync work automatically when online

  • Operate offline during field work


Roadmap Status

This feature is currently in development. Portions of the task system are already integrated into:

  • Alerts

  • Scouting

  • Farm Service Plans

Full task creation, assignment, and workflow automation will be released in upcoming versions of the platform.
