Record Details & Side Panel

Access full record details, attachments, and AI-generated summaries for every submission.

Selecting View from the record listing opens a detailed side panel containing everything submitted for that record — from the original attachments to structured summaries. This view enables deep inspection, auditing, and correction of data at a granular level.

The side panel is designed for transparency, giving you complete visibility into what was captured in the field and how Carbonleap interpreted it.

1. Side Panel Overview

The side panel slides in from the right and contains multiple tabs. These tabs vary slightly depending on whether the submission came from:

  • A Task Template (structured form data), or

  • Scouting Notes (images, audio, text processed by AI)

Each tab allows you to inspect or edit the record from different angles.

2. Summary Tab

The Summary tab is the primary view and behaves differently depending on record type.

For Task Submissions

The Summary shows:

  • A structured preview of all fields submitted in the form

  • Required vs optional fields

  • User-entered values

  • Form metadata (submission date, user)

This tab may also support editing, allowing corrections to the recorded values.

For Scouting Notes

The Summary displays the AI-generated structured interpretation of:

  • Images

  • Audio

  • Text notes

AI-generated outputs may include:

  • Detected stress signals

  • Possible biotic or abiotic causes

  • Disease or pest indicators

  • Severity assessments

  • Supporting evidence traces (“AI detected X because of Y”)

  • Key observations extracted from user notes

You may edit the summary to correct or refine AI interpretations.

Edits never overwrite the original media — attachments are always preserved for transparency.

3. Photos Tab

Displays all images submitted with the record.

Features:

  • Thumbnail grid

  • Click any image to enlarge

  • High-resolution zoom for inspecting canopy, fruiting, discoloration, or equipment details

This tab helps confirm the context of scouting issues or validate operational work.

4. Audio Tab

Shows all recorded audio notes included in the submission.

Features:

  • Built-in audio playback

  • Quick review of voice-noted observations from the field

  • Audio is also used by AI to extract insights in the Summary tab

This provides a hands-free option for workers who prefer speaking over typing during field activities.

5. Notes (Text) Tab

Displays all text-based notes submitted by the user.

Features:

  • Full note expansion for readability

  • AI uses content from text notes to enrich observations

  • Notes remain stored exactly as entered for auditing purposes

This tab is essential for reviewing worker comments, clarifications, or context provided during scouting or task execution.

6. Attachment Integrity & Traceability

All attachments — photos, audio, and text — are preserved exactly as submitted. Even if summaries or structured interpretations are edited:

  • Original inputs remain unchanged

  • Users can always see the raw material behind AI insights

  • Every insight remains fully auditable

This ensures trust, reliability, and defensibility of all Carbonleap analyses.

7. Editing Record Data

Where permitted, you may edit:

  • Summary fields

  • Structured form values

  • Corrected AI interpretations

Edits update the system record but do not alter raw attachments. This separation ensures clarity between ground truth and interpretation.

8. Why the Side Panel Matters

The side panel is designed to provide:

  • A single interface for reviewing everything about a record

  • Easy navigation between summaries and original attachments

  • Auditability for compliance, quality control, or operational verification

  • A high-resolution view into field behavior and conditions

This is the deepest and most detailed level of operational data available in Carbonleap.

Next Steps

You may now continue to other operational sections or revisit the Manage Tasks and Mobile workflows to see how data flows into Manage Data.
