Add Your First Farm

Using the Farm Onboarding Wizard

Once you have created your account and completed your first login, the next step is to add your first farm. Carbonleap guides you through a clear, structured onboarding wizard designed to set up your farm, add fields, and select a subscription plan.

This onboarding process consists of three steps:

  1. Farm Details

  2. Add Fields

  3. Select Subscription

Each step builds the foundation for accurate satellite analytics, weather modeling, and alert generation.

When the Wizard Appears

The setup wizard automatically launches when:

  • You log in for the first time and have no farms, or

  • You choose Add Farm from the farm selector, or

  • You add a farm through Settings → Manage Farms

Regardless of how you start, the onboarding flow is identical.

Overview of the Three-Step Process

Step 1: Farm Details

Enter the core information about your farm, such as:

  • Farm name

  • Type of farm (currently: open-sky farms only)

This information is used to initialize the farm’s data environment.

Step 2: Add Fields

Draw boundaries or add multiple fields within the farm. Carbonleap automatically calculates:

  • Field area

  • Total acreage for subscription estimation

  • Geometry for satellite and weather data alignment

You can add, edit, or delete fields during this step.

Step 3: Select Subscription

Choose the subscription plan for your farm. The estimated cost is based on total estimated acreage, rounded to the nearest whole acre.

This step activates the farm
