Core Capabilities

Realtime Field Intelligence and In-Season Decision Support

Carbonleap brings together satellite monitoring, weather analytics, crop modeling, and structured field data into a single system designed to support high-performance agricultural operations. This page provides an overview of the platform’s major capabilities.

Satellite Vegetation Analytics

Carbonleap delivers high-resolution satellite-based vegetation metrics for every field. These metrics allow users to monitor canopy development, moisture status, vigor, and early signs of stress.

Supported indices include:

  • NDVI

  • NDMI

  • NDRE

  • MSAVI

Each index is offered in multiple variants:

  • Actual value

  • Change from previous satellite scan

  • Percentile relative to historical values

  • Ten-year percentile

Together, these help growers assess both current conditions and deviations from normal seasonal behavior.

Hyperlocal Weather Intelligence

Carbonleap ingests data from multiple forecast providers and automatically selects the most accurate hyperlocal weather source for each farm.

Weather data is used to drive:

  • Alert triggers

  • Growth stage modeling

  • Water deficit modeling

  • Predictive analytics

  • Field readiness evaluations

Each farm receives a continuous 7-day forecast tailored to its exact location.

Phenological Calendar

Carbonleap generates a dynamic phenological calendar based on:

  • Ten years of historical weather

  • Crop-specific GDD thresholds

  • Daily GDD accumulation

  • Seven-day forecasted GDD

The system predicts key growth stages and automatically adjusts when users update actual observed dates. The calendar is accessible through both Monitor Farm and Settings.

Alerting and Decision Support

The alert engine analyzes satellite data, weather trends, and field-level patterns to detect agronomic and operational conditions that require attention.

Alerts include:

  • Classification and status

  • Timestamp and triggering criteria

  • Field location

  • Recommendations for potential actions

New alert types are continuously added as the platform expands.

Farm and Field Management

Each farm operates as an isolated data environment with its own:

  • Fields

  • Boundaries

  • Crops and varieties

  • Subscription plan

  • Historical models and alerts

Field geometry determines acreage, influences analytics, and drives subscription calculations. Changes follow a structured change-order process to maintain consistency and accuracy.

Mobile App and Offline Data Capture

The Carbonleap mobile app allows growers to:

  • Capture field notes offline

  • Document observations during scouting

  • Sync data automatically when reconnected

  • Allow AI to structure and tag notes for easier review

Original raw notes are always preserved alongside structured outputs.

Data Isolation and Security

Every farm is processed inside an independent data pod. This ensures:

  • Accurate field analytics

  • Independent model execution

  • Correct subscription billing

  • Clear access control for teams

This structure is foundational to the reliability and scalability of the platform.

Carbonleap’s capabilities work together to deliver actionable intelligence that supports better decisions throughout the growing season.
